Reach can be proven, impact cannot. Whether the spot led to a purchase has always been a matter of gut feeling — and gut feeling does not sell a second booking.
Regional TV · OTT · Social media × Local retail
Redeem.City turns every ad spot — on regional TV, OTT platforms and social media — into a redeemable purchase incentive and turns reach into a receipt. From the ad slot to the till at the bakery round the corner, every redemption is proven, tamper-proof.
No cold start: runs on existing ad slots and an established rewards app.

The status quo
For seventy years television has been a one-way street: the programme airs, the advertiser hopes for an effect — and never sees it. That blind spot costs the local media market budget every single year.
Reach can be proven, impact cannot. Whether the spot led to a purchase has always been a matter of gut feeling — and gut feeling does not sell a second booking.
The baker, the hairdresser, the local inn: no budget, no know-how, nothing to measure. For the largest target group outside the big cities, TV advertising was never an option.
What is earned locally ends up in the basket of an international online retailer — and the ad budget follows, to Google and Meta.
The idea
Redeem.City closes the loop. The spot triggers a concrete action. The action is documented and verified. The result flows back as a number — to the advertiser and to the broadcaster.
Not a discount portal. Not another app in the store. But the missing technical link between ad slot, consumer and purchase.
For regional media — TV, OTT and social media — pure reach becomes measurable, locally rooted economic impact for the first time: a sales product that reaches exactly those businesses that never considered TV advertising before.”
How it works
Two equal paths lead to the same voucher — via the TV screen or straight from the app. Both follow the same logic.
Twenty seconds is too short to scan a QR code. So the spot ends with a clear call to action, spoken and shown on screen: “Get your voucher for 20% off your next loaf on our website — or on your broadcaster’s website with the code BROT20WIEN.” The insert comes straight from the existing playout infrastructure, with no new technology in the broadcast chain.
Business or broadcaster website → personal code. On the business’s website the voucher is available directly, on the broadcaster’s website with the campaign code from the spot. After explicit consent the email address is stored and the personal voucher code arrives instantly — building both the business and the broadcaster a valuable contact list of their own along the way.
Right in the rewards app. Users discover campaigns without any TV trigger. The app displays and manages — all business and verification logic stays with Redeem.City.
Campaign, offer, validity, timestamp — as an entry nobody can change afterwards. No personal data, no tokens, no wallet.
At the partner’s existing till — automatically via the POS API or scanned by staff. And in the same business’s online shop: the same code, entered at checkout, takes the benefit straight off the basket.
Every redemption is checked against the ledger, double redemption is technically impossible, the electronic redemption receipt is created automatically — and the advertiser sees in real time what the broadcast achieved.
Distribution
New consumer offers almost always fail at the cold start: no users, no advertisers; no advertisers, no users. Redeem.City avoids that twice over.
A direct relationship with the viewer.
A TV spot is broadcast to everyone at once, and there is no time to scan a QR code. So the spot names a short campaign code that is easy to remember. On the broadcaster’s or the business’s website it becomes an individual voucher. And that reaches everyone who has not installed an app.
A user base from day one.
Instead of building a new app and waiting years for installs, Redeem.City plugs in as an intelligence layer to an established, actively used rewards app — via a documented, versioned interface.
The platform
Six building blocks that together turn an ad slot into a measurable sales tool.
Versioned, secured interface for code generation, voucher issuance, quota and runtime control. The engine every channel connects to.
Self-service for retail partners: create a campaign, define the offer, set the quota, manage branches, read the results. No agency, no media consultant, no lead time.
Issuance and redemption of every code as an immutable entry on self-operated infrastructure. Double redemption is ruled out technically, not just prevented organisationally.
Automatic deduction at the till where an open POS system exists, a generic scan fallback everywhere else — and the same code at the online shop’s checkout.
Issued, redeemed, redemption rate, broadcast, location, time. Live. The reporting online advertising has had for years — now for the ad slot.
An electronic, referenced receipt for every redemption — properly documented for accounting, tax advisers and audits.
The proof
The decisive difference is not the voucher — vouchers have existed for a hundred years. It is that in the end everyone involved sees the same number and nobody can change it afterwards.
Retailer, broadcaster and advertiser settle against a shared, verified record. No spreadsheet sent back and forth. No arguing about numbers at the end of the quarter.
Redemption
The Austrian POS landscape is a patchwork, and more and more businesses also sell online. Redeem.City serves both worlds with the same voucher code — and deliberately starts in store with a method that needs no integration at all.
Staff scan the code in the merchant app or type it in. Regardless of the POS system, regardless of how old the till is.
Every retailer is in from day one.
Direct integration with the open interfaces of common SME POS systems. The discount is deducted automatically at the till — no extra step for staff.
One scan, and the amount is right.
Custom integration for closed hospitality and chain systems, each with its own partner process. Until approval, level 1 applies automatically.
No partner has to wait.
Statutory recording at the till remains with the retail partner — Redeem.City supplies the electronic redemption receipt as a clean supporting document.
Online
More and more partner businesses sell not only in store but also online — from the farm shop with delivery to the boutique with its own shop. Redeem.City redeems the same code there too: entered at checkout, checked against the same ledger, documented in the same dashboard. For the advertiser it remains one campaign with one report — whether the purchase happens in the shop or in the basket.
Who it’s for
Bakery, hairdresser, local inn. No technical hurdle, a campaign set up in minutes — for many the first measurable advertising they have ever done.
Automatic discount right in the checkout process — and the same code in their own online shop. Zero extra effort day to day, full reporting in the portal.
Central campaign control, branch management and cross-broadcaster reporting — finally comparable across all locations.
The largest budget potential for the broadcaster. Start right away with the generic fallback, deep integration as needed.
To be clear
Because a clear no sharpens the positioning more than any yes.
Instead
Redeem.City is the layer underneath: measurement, redemption, settlement. Channel-specific code pools, redemption at existing tills and entrances, shared settlement between retail, media, city marketing and event organisers.
Reliability
At Redeem.City, data protection, tax law and regulation are a design principle — not the checklist at the very end.
Granular consents, requested separately. Revocable individually at any time. No pre-ticked boxes, no sharing with third parties.
It holds nothing but hashes and transaction data. Names and email addresses stay in a conventional, erasable database.
The ledger and core systems run on our own infrastructure in Austria. No personal data leaves the EU.
“1 free pastry” instead of “€5 credit”. No top-ups, no pay-outs, no free transferability — and therefore no e-money issues.
What’s next
Today the baker does not fail because of the ad slot but because of the spot: if you cannot pay for a production, you never get on TV. That is exactly where the next stage comes in.
The business enters nothing but its own web address. Brand, imagery, tone of voice and offering are read from it automatically.
This produces finished, broadcast-ready spot proposals in several lengths — including voice-over script, image selection and end card. The business chooses instead of writing a brief.
In the same pass, the Redeem.City campaign is attached to the spot: define the offer, set the quota, book the slot. From the first broadcast, every redemption counts.
Human in the loop
A broadcaster is legally and editorially responsible for what goes on air. That is why every broadcast requires human approval on the broadcaster’s side. Media law demands it, and it is also the difference that lasts: a spot on regional TV is checked before it airs. An online banner never is.
Behind it
For three decades the MundusShift team has been developing technology for media — from early e-commerce and live streaming to today’s broadcast and SaaS solutions. Redeem.City is the logical next step: early to market, viewed sceptically at first — and proven right in the end.
Real-time data analysis and AI-assisted programme optimisation for regional television — the existing collaboration in data-driven broadcast.
Cloud-native broadcast playout as SaaS — and the technical reference architecture Redeem.City is built on.
In production for a Vienna broadcaster — proof of operational reliability for critical broadcast infrastructure.
We are looking for broadcasters, retail partners and city marketing initiatives for the pilot phase. A conversation takes thirty minutes — and afterwards you know whether it is right for you.
The call to action
But it is enough for one sentence people remember: “Get your voucher on our website — or on your broadcaster’s website with the code BROT20WIEN.” That is where every Redeem.City campaign begins, and everything that happens afterwards is measurable.
